Dig Jazz? Then you’ll love these three items!
Each of these compendiums comes in attractive bound-form and contains eleven issues of Jazz Hot, the world’s longest running Jazz magazine, and, as such, accounts for one complete year of this illustrious publication (due to some gallic quirk, the months of July and August are treated to a single issue). The years in question are 1950 (No’s 40-50), 1952 (No’s 62-72). 1957 (No’s 117-127)

Each magazine is 44 pages in length. The only slight deviation from this format occurs in 1950 when the month of March sees a 52 page special editon in recognition of the magazine’s 15th anniversary. What unifies these magazines is their evident quality and striking graphic design. Packed out with articles - by such intellectual luminaries as Boris Vian - features, annoucements, and advertisements of the day (all of this in French), they also include a treasury of photographic images capturing all the jazz greats, along with their less celebrated peers. There are some truly striking and unusual shots amongst these.
The magazines are all in Very Good to Good condition, retaining their vibrant colours. There is some mild wear to the outer-boards in each case, and a slight crack appearing around the spine of each volume (this is most pronounced in the case of the year 1952), but these in no way interfere or detract from the integrity of the magazines themselves.
I have included a number of images from each compendium here. Should you wish more information on these items, please do not hestitate to ask.
